Dr. Eric R. Hampton, NMD

Eric HamptonDr. Eric R. Hampton, NMD

Founder & Medical Director

Dr. Hampton is a Naturopathic physician practicing integrative medicine and is highly skilled and experienced in the areas of nutritional, alternative and preventative medicine. He is also happily married to his wife Melinda and the proud father of son Chasen and daughter Paige.

For over twenty years, Dr. Hampton has been assisting people to live the most natural, healthful and productive life as possible. He worked his way through undergraduate college as a personal fitness trainer while studying athletic training and exercise physiology at UNLV (University of Nevada Las Vegas). That education and experience allowed him to work as an orthopedic rehabilitation specialist and exercise and fitness consultant. He also served as the director of a post-surgical rehabilitation and wellness program in an out-patient physical therapy clinic that encouraged people to adopt healthy and productive techniques to improve and maintain their physical health status.

His experience in these areas led to a great appreciation of our body’s inherent ability to heal itself with minimal and frequently no assistance of prescription medication and surgical procedures. As a result, he made a commitment to advance his education at the respected and progressive Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona, where he received his doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in the spring of 2001.

Dr. Hampton is a member of HEAL (Human Ecology Action League), which is a non-profit volunteer organization for people affected by or concerned about environmental conditions that are hazardous to human health. He is a Senior Advisor for the Valley of the Sun Wellness Institute, a non-profit organization that promotes workplace wellness programs. In addition, he volunteers his medical services to the Wellcare Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free medical services to single mothers and their children.

He has been featured on radio programs, written articles for health related publications and lectures frequently about the extraordinary benefits that can be realized from utilizing the many treatment options that exist other than the standard and customary use of prescription medications and surgery.

Although Dr. Hampton believes that medication is useful in many cases and he does write prescriptions when necessary, he feels very strongly that it is important to explore the intention behind which medications are prescribed. In the majority of cases, the long term use of medication is simply not necessary. He believes that most doctors prescribe drugs far too often without taking the time to explore options and to learn about the true underlying cause or causes of their patient’s health problems.

Clinical experience has convinced Dr. Hampton that the majority of disease and illness can effectively be treated by 1) removing from the body that which does not belong or may be causing dysfunction, and 2) providing the body with what it is lacking, in the form of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, water and oxygen, among others, and 3) getting out of the way! In short: Detoxify, Nutrify, Stand By…

This treatment approach has proven to be tremendously effective and efficient, frequently without the use of prescription medications that can be associated with side effects that are worse than the conditions they were intended to treat.

Dr. Hampton created Arizona Prohealth, The Health Improvement Company with the goal of providing personalized, high quality and affordable medical and wellness care for the families and business owners of Arizona who are uninsured, underinsured, or have high deductable plans.

It is his sincere wish that Arizona Prohealth will serve as a practical and realistic medical model to illustrate that healthcare costs can be contained and the overall health of our population can be improved while decreasing the incidence of chronic disease by employing proactive, preventative medicine techniques. It has become all too clear that our current DISEASE care system, with it’s emphasis upon crisis management and emergency medicine, is doing very little to improve health and prevent disease.

Dr. Hampton feels strongly compelled to direct, implement and promote the Arizona Prohealth model of healthcare for the greater good of the people, businesses and communities of Arizona with the goal of preventing disease, treating illness and improving health while saving people money at the same time.
